Everyone loves a self-revealing test.
We all know an astrology girl, the coach who uses Human Design, or designer who tells everyone she’s an Enneagram 1 with a 9 Wing.
I was always a Myer Briggs kinda gal after my first life coaching experience at age 15. I felt lost in life and… angry? (As every teenage girl does.)
My mom paid $300 for me to chat with this person over the phone for an hour.
I took a bunch of notes and plotted the rest of my life based on that call.
Turns out, my Myer Briggs Personality evolved as I stopped… I don’t know… being teen?! Aaaand none of my plans are applicable anymore!
Gosh darn it.
Current stats:
- Enneagram: 8
- Zodiac: Scorpio (Not sure about the sun/moon thing. Always feels like Cheeto is in razor blade or… something.)
- Human Design: ??? (Can’t find a free version)
- Myer Briggs: ENTJ
- Humor Type: Rodeo Queen
If you don’t make it your whole-ass personality, a lot of these personality quizzes are insanely insightful. I particularly like how it gives me an idea of how OTHERS perceive and experience me.
While I think I’m just a straight shooter but pretty easy-going, other folks might feel I’m sharp and too opinionated.
This doesn’t mean I’m going to workshop myself into being another person, but it gives me PERSPECTIVE. I’m not a naturally empathetic person, so it gives me a tool to tap into understanding.
With I figured out my Humor Type, I was actually able to see the WHY behind the things I find funny and how I naturally experience/create humor in my day-to-day.
It also gave me some creative boundaries in my content creation.
Who knows when-the-heck you’re reading this, but it’s January 1st of 2024.
I didn’t make wild resolutions or business goals outside of filling out NAME’s 2024 Bingo Card for funsies, but I did some BIG ‘OLE reflecting.
And I found that humor was the culprit behind most of my booked clients and overall business highs in 2023.
I realized my natural humor brought a lot of folks into my world, opened a lot of doors, and helped me grow Pass the Queso.
So yeah, I made up “Rodeo Queen” as a Humor Type.
And that’s because I created my 4 Humor Type profiles – all based on research from psychologists’ Martin Rod and Patricia Doris, who were studying personalities waaaay before my first life coach.
Let’s plot these suckers on a graph:
Humor Types take 2 things into account:
- The content of your humor (x-axis)
- The delivery of your humor (y-axis)
When I created the 4 Humor Types Quiz, I took these elements into account along with how you operate within your business as a personal brand.
After you take the quiz, you’ll understand how your humor expresses itself and how you can incorporate that into how you write!
Take a gander at the 4 Humor Types:
- The Rodeo Queen (A jolty ride)
- The Homestead Humorist (Sunny-side-up)
- The Quickshot (Rapid-fire wit)
- The Gentle Ribber (Softer chuckle)
Humor makes us human and helps us connect with others, which is the underlying foundation of brand building – and sales!
Everyone has their own kind of funny and when you bring it into your business, you’ll:
🎙️ Charm & disarm your way to profit & authority.
🎙️ Easily write copy that sounds like you.
🎙️ Stack “yes”es with your natural humor type.
It’s not just about making people laugh – it’s about making them listen, connect, and uh – yeah, open their wallets.
In a world full of fake spicy hOt TaKeS and forcing controversy for engagement, your humor will make you stand out. Your entire brand will be more memorable, relatable, and straight-up more fun to buy from.
I didn’t slap on a clown nose and call it a day – I introduced levity into my brand.
Now I want to help you figure out YOUR unique humor style and put it to use.
